Konami was an RPG Powerhouse on the PlayStation one

Konami has become something of a punchline in modern game development. They’re a pachinko company, they’re too busy with their health clubs, yadda yadda. They have still had modern hits, such as Metal Gear Solid V, and their soccer games, the PES series. But let’s be honest, the Konami of yesteryear is not the Konami we see today. Everytime someone mentions Silent Hill, people look wistfully at their PS4 still sporting their copy of P.T., grasping at conspiracy theory straws that Hideo Kojima is secretly the game development studio, Blue Box, and secretly working with Konami to make a new horror title. While that would be cool, and interesting in this internet leak and AR games-age, I would prefer to see Konami back as the company that cranked out quality RPG’s, I would love to see them be the company they were in the PS1 era.

Game Price Insanity

Game Price Insanity

Before I begin here, I just need to get this out of the way. I am not against video games being $70 this generation. Game development costs have only gone up, while the prices of games have remained stagnant for years. That is a separate article though. Today, I am here to talk about another type of game where the prices are getting absolutely out of control: Retro games

Review: Biomutant

Review: Biomutant

Biomutant is a game full of charm and wonder, from the dialog between your furry avatar and characters in the world to the various breathtakingly rendered environments. The fast-paced and engaging combat masks some underlying issues, such as bland, surface-level story and gameplay loops that can grow tedious. A B-level game that offers a ton of fun if you don’t expect the highest quality, Experiment 101’s first game will entertain you for hours.

My Summer gaming goals

My Summer gaming goals

So this is the first non-intro thing I am writing for Sword Chomp. It’s somewhat nerve-wracking, but in some ways, starting to write something always is. When I was trying to come up with what would be a good thing to talk about with you fine readers, one of the first ideas I had was how I intend to spend my Summer, with regards to playing video games. I don’t have much in the way of Summer plans otherwise; I may live on an island, but I am not a beach-goer, with a beach-body. I am in-shape mind you, assuming you consider very round to be a shape. You folks aren’t here though for beach talk anyway, this is a video game website, so let’s talk about video games god dammit.

Who in the Hell is Ray McGill?

Who in the Hell is Ray McGill?

You may have already heard me speaking, and accidentally interrupting Shea (I swear his lag was that bad on my end) on the Chompcast this past week. But for those of you who didn’t, as well as those who may want to actually see why I am being brought on, a written introduction is in order. My name is Ray, and I have known Rich for quite a while at this point. I was introduced to the Sword Chomp group through him, and he knows that I am at least a halfway-decent writer.
