This week we talk about what games we’d like to make into horror games.
After that we talk about what we’ve been playing recently: A Plague Tale: Requiem, Gotham Knights, and Dome Keeper.
With the Chompcast, we aim to deliver an insightful and unique perspective on gaming as we talk about our experiences with the games we play, recent gaming news that most affects our interests, and philosophical issues encompassing everything that involves video gaming.
Welcome! You have reached the third and final week of the Game of the Year shows where we award games of 2020 the Daggertooth Awards from us here at Sword Chomp.
We officially close 2020 out by awarding games our personal top 5 games of the year before we collectively decide the 5 games that represent our favorite games here at Sword Chomp.
We want to say thank you to you, the listener, for sticking with us this year and showing your incredible support. What was your game of 2020?
It’s week 2 of Game of the Year, baby! We ran through all of our categories, such as our favorite character, our favorite gaming ecosystem, the character we’d most like to punch in the face, and many more. Enjoy one of our longest episodes of the year, and return for next week where we reveal our top 5 personal and site games of the year!
I want you to think back for a moment on a game that you played when you were younger. Particularly, a game that you love and you hold close to your heart. A game that warms your heart and soul; one that puts a smile on your face as you reminisce of the times that you spent exploring that world. You’ve got one? Good.
Now I want you to be objective for a moment. Try your best to remove all of the nostalgia that you feel for the game. Does that story hold up now? What elements about that story make it hold up and stay relevant? What elements of the story make it feel dated?
On this week’s episode, we attempted to answer that question to the best of our ability, as we wanted to discuss what elements of a story keep it relevant and what elements don’t lend itself to the present. We talked about Ghost of Tsushima, Untitled Goose Game, Necrobarista, and the new Battletoads game. We rounded up the show with some social media polls and some general silliness.
We hope that you enjoy the show, and that you have a lovely week!
This week we talk about the Xbox Games Showcase: Halo Infinite, Psychonauts 2, Fable, Everwild, and everything else that piqued our interests. We also get into the games we’ve been playing this week: Pokemon Sword and Shield dlc Isle of Armor, Ghost of Tsushima, Paper Mario: The Origami King, and Carrion.
